by the cowl, i mean the black plastic panels under the wipers. to make things easier, run the wipers and turn the key off when theyre vertical. theres 2 panels, you need to take off the one on the passenger side. after you get that panel off you'll see a big hole and you should be able to see your blower motor way down at the bottom, thats hole is what i call the hvac air intake.

the goal is to make sure water running down the windshield cant fall in that hole.

now its been a while since i've had one apart so i dont recall all the specifics, but i want to say theres a seal in there that over time does a pretty lame job of doing its job. seems like you could probly buy a new seal and that would work, but i'm cheap and i think i found some truck topper foam tape to use.... hmm anyways, the problem should be infront of you by this time to see, and you know the goal of what you want to do, so hopefully this info will have ya fixed up, or close enough that you'll be able to figure it out from that point.

we had really heavy rain all day.

im going to look into this later today and put a space heater in there to help dry it out. i had enough water in the passenger side to need flippers and a snorkle.

my driveway is like about a 20 degree angle maybe and i usually park nose down. when i wash it i park nose up to avoid this.

i think im going to stick to nose up from now on.

i get a lot of water in the passenger door too. theres some gook that clogs the drain hole and also the door gasket presses against the hole blocking it. once i get on level ground it looks like i have a pickup truck draining water all over.

i thought i read where sometimes its the door spilling over onto the passenger floor.

No need to bump a 7 year old post. Check the date of the thread you're replying too. The door drain is unrelated to the passenger floor issue. It has to do with the cabin air filter seal.
