Not all engine parts are interchangeable but I believe the timing belt, pulleys and tensioner should all transfer over.

Everything from the heads up is different between the 95 and the 96/97 motors. The timing belt setup and all the accessories should be the same.

Thanks...some guy is selling a 97 z34 with lambo doors and he said all it needs is the timing belt and the pulley but something is fishy cause all he's asking is $650.00?????????? The body is clean.

Be weary because if the timing belt broke, there is a very good chance that one or more of the valves are bent from hitting the piston. Anyone who neglected their LQ1 long enough for the timing belt to break probably has used and abused that car way too much. I would only buy it for parts, not with hopes of making that car a runner, unless you are willing to have the heads re-done and possibly replace the pistons or even swap another motor in.

Thats exactly what i was thinking, I already have a nice 95 z34 I just need to replace my cat or clean it out since it doesnt have to pass the emissions but I probably would feel a lil guilty about that so Im just going to pass up that 97 MC. Thanx for the info and helping me decide!

If it were a 96 not a 97, I would say buy it anyway and swap the upper and lower intake manifolds, fuel rails and throttle body and just use the 96 computer. Since its a 97, the computer wont control your trans so it wouldnt be worth it.
