Default Opinion on Extended Warrranty for MC

I have a 2007 Monte Carlo, the warranty is coming to end . I would like to get the opinions from other Monte Carlo owners if they think it is good idea to buy the extended warranty package. The extended warranty will run about 1800 to 2000 dollars. My car is just at 36,000.

Please let me know your thoughts!!!! Thanks!!!!

I paid $1,200 for a 4 year, 100,000 mile warranty on mine when I bought it. It has a $200 deductable.

If you don't drive a lot, you need to go for one with more years than mine, I didnt care about the year length, because I go throught milage before years on my car.

Honestly, IDK if its really worth it. I've only used mine for a water pump, and power steering pump so far. So it has not even paid for itself. Unless you have a major problem, like a tranny, or head gasket/ intake gasket issue, then it won't really pay for itself. All in all, its a gamble!

But the GMPP warranty's are the best you can buy for your car. They are bumper to bumper just like the factory warranty..

Being you have an 07, don't you have a 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty? I thought all 07 Chevy's had it. If you have powertrain for 100K, I would not buy anything else...

I do have the powertrain warranty upto five years or 100,000 miles. I feel pretty good about the engine and transmission making it to that point. I do worry about things like power windows, moon roof, door locks, brake booster, power steering, power seats, dash board controls, and air conditioner going out. It sounds like your car has been really good to you. Hopefully, mine will be the same with me. I am looking at the one your using and it does good. A few people at work told me that nomorerepairbills and fidelity are really good, but I am not as comfortable with these third party ones.

I've never had a problem with anything interior related. The CD player did stop working, but I broke that myself on accident. I stuck a CD in, but did not push it far enough in. So the CD player was not able to grab the CD, and it burnt up the motor. But that was when the car was like 6 months old, so the dealer replaced it for FREE.

Other than that, and the water pump, and power steering pump, mine has been rock solid reliable!

Just maintain it well. I change my tranny fluid, coolant, and oil often. Also, it might pay have your power steering fluid changed every 50K.

there are alot of after market replacement parts that you also can get when the gm parts gets used up. they are good replacements also some of the parts for chevy are relitivly afordibel compared to other manufacturers. my dads six speed for his mazda is 8k compared to 3500 to 4k for ours trans.the engine parts are less then a over head cam car. thats only why i like some of gm's motors and trans. on how affordeble they are compared to other makes

I was kinda worried about a power window crapping out on me too, because my mom's 2000 Bonneville has eaten 2 window regulators @ $450 to fix each time. But it APPEARS that maybe GM strengthened the damn cable that kept snapping in their newer models, because so far my Monte's windows have been flawless.
