Default Oil Pressure Switch?

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster...

Anyways, I've had a leak on my 00' Monte SS since I've bought it. I bought it in May, and the in total I've leaked almost an entire quart of oil. So I thought it was the valve covers...8hours later I completed the job, but the leak was still there!

Did some searching online and found out it could have been the Oil Pressure Switch....

The culprit...

So I changed the OPS, and cleaned up with some degreaser.

I drove the car today for a good while, put a cardboard under the car and there is still a slight leak, but its relatively small, but still...Any oil leak is bad in my eyes...

Could it be I didnt tighten the OPS as much as I should? I was worried about maybe stripping the thread or even worse, breaking it inside the engine block. Should I retighten with the wrench? I could still turn it a few more times, I was just worried about breaking it...

What do you guys think?

Did you ever check the sensor for leaks? Typically that can be done by disconnect the wire, start the car. If it's a big leak, it will spray out, if it's smaller it oozes out. Pluse the inside of the connector would be oily.

Odds are since you changed it, that is not your leak. Since you said you've lost an entire quart, I assume you know this from topping the oil off? I'm trying to think what else in that region could cause your leak. You are near the power steering pump and hoses, but if you're not loosing power steering fluid, that rules that out.....

My mind is drawing a blank for the moment (just par for the day so far)....

Yeah, I did check the sensor for the leak. It was leaking from the little plastic part where the electrical connector goes to. Im certain on the powersteering aswell, not coming from that, its definately oil. would you recommend tightening the sensor a bit more? I could give it a few more turns without forcing it. Im just worried about it breaking off haha.

Edit- Is the block aluminum? First car I own that is not a LT1 or LS1 lmao, I know nothing about the 3.8!

The sensor just needs to be "snug", not gorilla type.

And no, I do not believe the block is aluminum.
