Mobil 1 is probably one of the preferred brand amongst the non-synthetic oils, although I still think they're all too similar to pay a heftier price for one versus the other. I went with Royal Purple and a high flow oil filter on my last oil change, cost me twice as much as a regular oil change, but it can also go twice as long without one. Also, synthetic oil is healthier for your engine, so in the long run it kinda evens out in your favor. Hope this helps.

Haha, mine is Evelyn. I'm looking to put some window tint on her some time in April, set her apart a bit more from the other Monte's. Not to mention I also recently installed this.

How about triplets LOL!!

I'm curious about the new Penzoil synthetic. I might consider it if it's not too expensive. I use regular Penzoil now and have been very happy.

I have been told my many of my mechanic friends to NEVER use Penzoil... They have all done engine rebuilds and when ever they encounter one that used penzoil, it all sludged up and made cleaning a b****. I like valviline or what ever, I have also been told not to use Castrol. But I try to use synthetic

my grandfather gave me 2 cases of mobil-1 full synthetic oil, so of course thats what i put in the monte, haha. although i have no idea if there is any real differance that i've noticed, but my car's got 164k miles on it and its still running strong...

full synthetic oil allowes the motor to run smother with out streining any thing also it goes threw the entire motor quicker than regular oil. gm has been using mobil 1 for awhile and mobil 1 to my guestimet is synthetic.

I will only use castrol full synthetic, ive seen what penzoil does to engines and wouldnt put it in my engine if i was paid to. Heres a pic of one engine with penzoil and one engine with castrol full synthetic. the one with 'brownie mix' in it the penzoil and that motor had 100k miles, the other has 175k miles with castrol and is perfectly fine.

Too many myths here. The pennzoil yellow bottle was know to in the past to sludge more often than other brands. However, the new stuff is great. I run pennzoil platinum full synthetic in my monte with a pureone filter. I change it ever 5k miles.

I suggest taking a peek at http://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php to clear up any question you have.

We have come to a conclusion after looking at used oil analysis that penn. platinum and mobil 1 are the best for the money. After that comes redline, and amsoil, but they are quite expensive. We have also determined that royal purple is a waste of money. It is just a low grade synthetic with dye in it.
