Default Odometer and overhead info go dim

So I just recently acquired a 2005 monte. my question is my odometer and overhead info goes dim after I start vehicle. when I first turn on key its bright then goes dim seconds later. I can still see them but feel its not right. is this the indication of the dimmer switch bad?
I will add that I did an led swap. If this has any relation I cant verify. the leds don't dim so I assumed that was normal
thanks

Check maybe the sensor is dirty.. Up on the dash board, little nub thing..

Should be bright in the day and darker at night..

It sounds like a bad sensor. It thinks it's dark outside when it isn't.
