I will be taking the wheel of later on today when I have a bit more time but yesterday, I started hearing grinding int he front driver's side wheel well. I thought the pads may have been run down lower than I was suppose to but with no high pitch squealing, I thought I would stick my head in there. I saw....

 

Yeah maybe something is stuck between the pad and rotor. I would replace the pads and rotor's as soon as possible.

 

Id change the rotors & pads, your pads might be wore down completly, not unusal for em to wear & not squeal

 

Your wear sensors might be broken?

depending on how deep the groves are, i'd just have the rotors turned. if it is just something stuck in the pads and they have some life left, i'd get it out and sand them down. done that to motorcycle and mountain bikes before with no problems.

if it ain't broke, don't replace it.

 

Interesting!! That pic has a groove like what I found on the inside face of the rotors on my wife's Impala. It was making a squeal like the wear tabs make to tell you it's time to change brakes. Since I have the brakes apart on the Monte, I threw the monte rotors on (Impala has the same pads), no more noise. I'll just replace the brakes on the Monte and call it a day (as nothing else looked out of sorts).
