No Spark condition in 1980 monte carlo
Hi Guys I really need help my car won't start and i have tried everything. There is no spark. I replaced the coil and tested new one just in case. The coil is fine. I have replaced the rotor and cap. I have replaced the HEI module and replaced the distributor itself. I tested the pickup coil and it is fine. The tachometer tested ok because I put a test light to it and it blinked. What am i missing? Is there a fuse for the ignition that should be replaced or something? I know there is a connection from the distributor to the ecm. Could there be anything related to the ecm that is causing this no spark condition? When i connect the multi meter to battery i get 12v or higher showing, but on my volt meter in the car its 8-9v when switch is to battery on position. The timing in distributor I tried to make sure was perfect so I'm pretty sure it is not timing related.
Guys any help would be appreciated I want to get this car on the road before summer ends.

Have you checked all the grounds?? Sounds like you replaced everything else. Possibly low voltage could be a result of high Ohms, bad ground causing high resistance maybe. That is a stumper. be interested to hear what you did to figure out the problem.

Is the timing chain any good ? Seems that you have replaced or checked the usual problems. Confirm the rotor is moving when you crank the engine. The only ground the distributor use"s is where the distributor clamp blots to the engine. Is yours chrome ? Good luck
