No heater when first starting or idling
2007 Monte Carlo LT
I have a problem that could be many things, but it's been going on for a while. When I first start the car up and the heat turned on, there is no heat for about 5 minutes of driving. If idling, there will never be heat. If idling from driving, the heat will turn off and start blowing cold air.
At the same time, my rear defroster does not work at all.
Also, when the driver's side temperature is turned all the way to cold, there is a constant clicking for about 30-60 seconds.
Is there anyway to replace the climate control unit in the dash?
Any other suggestions?

The clicking thing sounds like a air divert door not opening. Might check this post

Low on coolant. 3.5/3.9 100% failure rate of coolant crossover pipe gaskets.
At the same time, my rear defroster does not work at all.
Purple wire in right kick panel is melted at connector. GM repair is to bypass connector by cutting out burnt section of wire.
Also, when the driver's side temperature is turned all the way to cold, there is a constant clicking for about 30-60 seconds.
