Default New member NEED HELP ASAP with HD diff problem

Ok guys how are ya, I'm a member on multiple other forums for other vehicles. And I need some help

02 Dale Earnhardt edition SS
Swapping in 05 supercharged engine. When I bought the engine and Trans, the extension housing on the Trans was broken, I ordered a new extension housing today, now the roller bearing inside the extension housing must have destroyed the little stainless bushing on the end of the diff/carrier. Where in the world can I get one of those. I tried attaching a picture so you can see as everyone I've explained this piece to, looks at me like I have 5 heads, but it's asking for an image url. Not sure why I can't attach it. Please if anyone knows what I'm talking about I need the info, I'm putting the engine in tonight. Thank you very much.

I moved this thread to a better section. You should be able to post pics here.
Off hand I am not familiar enough with what the part is and where to get it. You may want to contact rockauto or perhaps a shop that specializes in transmissions.

I tried posting a picture on my phone but it's still asking for a url. I don't know how else to explain it, it's the end of the differential carrier, there's a metal bushing pressed into it which rides inside the bearing in the removable extension cone of the transmission

I honestly don't use the mobile browser version of this site. But there is an app for this site. Look for "Garage Talk" from IB or may say Internet Brands. The app well make posting a pic from your phone a lot easier.

If Turbo Monte catches this, he may have some input (he's got a lot of knowledge of these transmissions). Here is a link about one of his transmission re-builds, perhaps there is info in there or a pic that might help:

Just seen this, without pics I am not sire what your talking about but I would highly suggest calling Dave at triple edge performance. He is the best of the best with these transmissions and will assist you more than anyone else I'm willing to bet.

I ended up having to buy an entire new diff. It was actually part of the diff itself where it rolls inside the roller bearing in the tailshaft housing.

Ahh darn well thanks! Haha too late now but! I got a decent deal I got the diff, sun gear, and housing plus the entire shaft and the shims and bearing for 110$. Think that's halfway decent
