new to forum, electrical prob. with 74 Landau
Hey everybody, new to the forum here, hope to learn a lot here, and maybe help a little too. I've got a 74' Landau project with an electrical issue that's stumping me. With the headlamps, (or even just the park lamps) on, the LH turn indicator is constantly on, and both backlights on the LH side of the cluster are just barely lit. Also the fuel guage is dark. So basically the whole left side of the cluster is dark. All the lamps on the car work ok. I suspect a ground problem, and have checked all the ones I can find. I even jumpered them individually to a redundant ground. Also swapped LH turn signal sockets with RH turn signal sockets. Suspected the headlamp switch might have a poor ground, and be grounding through the LH indicator, but even jumpering the light switch to a good ground didn't affect it. Possibly something wrong with the printed circuit board? I took it out, looked fine. I actually have a 73' service manual, but the wiring diagrams look like spaghetti, and don't give locations of any grounds, or much else. If anybody has any ideas on this, I'm all ears. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to give good details. Thanks for any thoughts on this.
