I have a diagram in my pictures I think, Ill look real quick.

EDIT: Yea here it is. Originally MINE was capped off and unused so I put a vacuum gauge there.

If you are positive you had a vac line there, I think it should go to the MAP.

Mine was an '02 btw.

Wow that was a while ago... Sorry, just typing out loud.

I appreciate it. Yeah there was a price deteriorated rubber hose and I’ve looked all over trying to find the other end with no luck. While car is running it the rpm’s fluctuate at idle and if I put my finger over hole it kills the vehicle.. I’ve been running it like it is but now the car is throwing po171 & po507 codes.. but anyway much appreciated

I know on the 3400 Grand Ams, there is a vac line there (I believe it feeds the HVAC controls). I know in a 2005 Impala (which is like a Monte), that I used to work on, it was just capped off. But, somewhere from 2000-2004 GM changed the HVAC controls from vacuum controlled to all electronic controlled.

What year is your Monte as that may have bearing here. And if there was a vac line connected to it, is part of that old line still lingering around the engine?

Is there another nipple on the backside of the manifold? On my 02, the rear nipple was used and the front (where I have the hose connected) was capped off from the factory. I believe the rear went to the MAP.
