I would take the belt off and align all of the teeth on top dead center and replace the belt... now that's a direct answer to the qhestion, but I have a feeling you had a more specific problem... we need more details... what's the car doing and such?

Yeah it's pita but you can line it up. Just make sure eveyrthing is dead on... you may have to advance or retard a tooth before releasing the tensioner.

Sounds to me like the ignition control module

Or... scarily the pcm... but im hoping for you its the primary

You can remove it and take it to a parts store and have it tested
Just tell them to test it a couple of times

Is your security light on or flashing? Just a guess, but maybe after having the battery disconnected during the engine repair the security system needs to relearn? Turn the ignition switch to the "on" position, leave it there for 10 minutes then turn it off. Now try to start the car. If that doesn't work try it again but do the procedure 3 times in a row for a total of 30 minutes then try to start the car. Like I said, just a guess on my part...good luck.
