Default Need Assistance (Cant drive w/o Help)

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forum's and I am actually a new owner of a 2000 monte carlo LS, first I hated them. After driving them, THEY ARE AWESOME!

My problem I am having is with my Headlights. When I first received the car (Surprise from my Mom) Everything looked alright, but now I am having some electrical problems, my 1 running light is not working and of last night, I was driving home and my low beams both went REALLY REALLY dim too were I couldn't see. So I drove home with my High Beams on (Only way I could see). So I thought my Alternator was going and that is good. Bulbs are all solid. But when I was looking at the Lamps, the Previous owner is having (If sitting in the car) the Left lamp wired up (by a Stero Wires) to the Right lamp, as also now when my lights are on (Super Dim) and I turn the high beams on, my right lamp turns off completely and left lamp works on high. Also for my High Beams to work I need to hold them in, it will not stick at all. I am thinking Multi Function Switch?

Looking through the wiring it seems like the previous owner tried to some what bypass something I just don't know what.

So I am coming to the Forums to find Assistance, as with out lights I can not drive at night or in any weather condition. If anyone can put some sort of advice in or recommendation it would be great.

Thank you for your time.

Giggle the multi function switch around, those are prone to fail, causing wicked issues. The ground to the headlights if the high beams work is good. Sounds like the turn signal (multi function) is bad.

Yea so Multi Function... We tested ground and it was good. Lights are getting power just something is up, so we will replace that and see what happens.
