"did you guys not read the article?! if your car ever starts to have the problems they were having, it wont help you trying to get money back from GM by changing your coolant."
Give up on getting money from GM, that article was old, it just was the first thing that pop up under the search.

"The dex cool has "stop leak" in it and the sludge you are describing is just that."
Dexcool was designed for a sealed system, not one with an overflow like our fine GM cars, so yes that is part of the problem.

"And never put Dexcool in again!"
Amen brother!

I did a lot of research on Dexcool with my 1999 Trans am, and it is just plain bad ****. Do several flushes and get rid of it. my suggestion if you have dexcool is to rush and flush the system and replace with traditional coolant, then flush and replace with traditional coolant every three months until all signs of sludge are gone, this could take 4 or more flushes.
Open the cap when the car is cool and if you see brown you need to continue to flush.
On my 1992 TA I pulled the hoses and reverse flushed the heater core and looped out the core and flushed the engine and radiator with out a thermostat for what seemed like hours, after I put it all back together and ran it for a week, I opened the cap and still had brown floating on green.

Sounds like air is mixing with your dex-cool somehow. I would say there's some kind of air leak in your system that is ruining your dex-cool each time you flush it.

Maybe your Radiator cap is bad?
