Default Muffler/Catalytic Converter

My muffler fell off today and when I took a look under the car I noticed how rusty the thing was. I'm not sure if the pipe I'm looking at is the catalytic converter, I hope not. I was wondering if this was rusted beyond repair? I was really hoping I did not need a new catalytic converter and I could just get my muffler reattached.

That looks like the tail pipe as it exits the back of the vehicle right? Your catalytic convertor will be almost under the drivers seat....so much farther up then where the tail pipe exits.

Are you experiencing any "driveability" issues? Like hesitation? Or stumbling on acceleration? If not and its just "noisey" then you probably just need a new muffler/section of tail pipe. Hopefully....LOL.
