More '06 DIC messages
Hi gang,
All you people with your wonderful 06's, hope your don't have this problem.
Just started getting "junk falling out of my trunk" error messages. Actually, I've had my "trunk open" twice recently on the open highway for no reason while I had both my hands on the wheel. Had to pull over and close it.
Gonna take it in and see whats up. For whatever reason, GM didn't put a key hole in the trunk, but they put an emergency latch inside in case you "locked yourseld in the trunk."
No way to mechanically open it. Weird but gotta find out why my trunk opens for no reason. Must be stray radio signals or something. I'll report back if I get a clue.

Hi Dave, There's nothing wrong with your DIC. Chevrolet
installed sensor's hidden in the interior that pops the trunk
when the vehicle detects [:@]Taco Farts[:@]
Sorry, the night shift is getting to me Please keep us
posted on the cause & solution. What other problems are
you having with your LTZ ? Good Luck at your dealer `Grandpa : )
Hope the baby is doing well. `Space

Yeap, I love the LTZ, but it has a grip of tiny problems as I mentioned on my newbie post. I won't give up though. I'm definitely keeping this car. Hey, BTW, it wouldn't bother me being the unofficial Gramps of the Unofficial MonteCarloForum[sm=sleeping.gif][sm=nerd.gif]

RE: More '06 DIC messages
When i first got my car, After about 3 days I had "Trunk Open" on the DIC but the trunk was definitely closed. I took it back into the dealer and they said the electrical connections were loose, they "lubricated and repaired" it and I have had no problems since.
I also had "ENGINE HOT A/C OFF" as soon as I turned on the car, so obviously the engine was not hot but I found the problem to that one too, the negative battery cable was somewhat loose and needed to be tightened, cured all my problems. 99% of these weird messages you get on the DIC are caused from electrical gremlins. Corvettes are notorius for this problem especially the C5's 1997-2004, trust me, I had one.
If in doubt, check your battery cables and ground connections! Usually something is loose!
Regards,
Jason

Double check the trunk release button under the dash. Might be a little sensitive. Also check the manual release catch and handle to make sure they are working properly. Might be stuck in the open position.
