Question Monte wount start!

so i was running low on gas, and when i went to go start my 03 ss it turned over and stalled, 5 gallons of gas later it started rough and jerked rpms for a second then stalled, also had a 5th cylinder misfire code, bogged and popped at 2,000-2500 rpms. do u think seafoam would clean it out or could it make it worse since the car wount start normally? theres been quite a few probs and one ive recently noticed is when i turn out of my drive way and hit the gas, my traction on light comes up and a hear a weird noise and cuts off the car from moving, i honestly dont know where to start, its a 3.8 v6 w/98,867 miles. i really need some advice and i would appreciate any input on how to tackle this. thank you!

I'm thinking fuel pump on the big issue - I doubt seafoam could help. The traction light issue sounds like a faulty abs sensor (in the hub) may be appling brakes

You might as well get a lower intake gasket and an upper intake gasket too.

ok so, i did replace the upper and lower intake gaskets. now the car runs for about 10 mins, then goes down to 600 rpms and just dies.....then when i try to start it again it either doesnt start or it will bog the rpms up and down. you think its a fuel pump?

I'd be checking fuel pressure. One reason I suggest fuel pump is that its one of the few things I can think of know to have intermittent or inconsistent problems. When most things fail you will "always" have the problem but with a fuel pump you'll often "sometimes" have the problem

Either a fueling issue or the MAF is dead. That sounds like exactly what happened when my MAF went bad. Unplug the MAF and see if the car keeps running. If so, your MAF's bad.

Not sure about your starting/stalling issue but I've been having the same issue when coming out of my driveway for a while now. Until about 2 weeks ago. That's when I changed my brakes, rotors and pads. I had already done the drivers side and had it all put back together and was getting ready to put the wheel on the passenger side when I remembered to check the hub plugs to see if it was loose/damaged. It looked good but I pushed it in just to make sure, haha, then put everything back together. It hasn't happened again since!

That being said, i'm assuming either it was a loose connection or it had to do with how worn my brake pads were. The only difference between your situation and mine is that on mine when the traction light would come on it wouldn't actually activate the traction system, the light would just come on along with the abs light.

You did them yourself? Was it a hard job or pretty straight forward? I'm mechanically inclined but the most i've done on my cars are things like headers/valve cover and spark plug tube gaskets, intakes, basic tune up stuff so the thought of undertaking such a task seems kind of out of my league. On a scale of 1-10, for someone mechanically inclined but no experience with internal engine repair, how would you rate this job?

You do need to check the fuel line to see what kind of pressure you're getting. That would show if your fuel pump is bad or not.

04MonteLS, the LIM and UIM gaskets are not very difficult at all only time consuming.
