Default Monte Carlo Body Swap

Could anyone tell me if a 1985 Monte Carlo SS body fit on a 1980 frame. I rolled my 80 Monte and totaled the body. It smashed the top of it. The frame is fine, though.I Have a 85 SS with a completly rusted frame. I built the 80 to circle track race and so i would hate to have to buy a new monte and rebuild it. Thankx

from what i remember the 78-80 have a shorter frame than the 81-88 has so i would say no ! but i would check if i had them both there i have not seen a 78-80 for a long time now but i know the the car it self is shorter so i would guess that the frame is too

The 1980 & the 1985 both have a108 inch wheelbase, but as 88ss408 said the total frame length is probably shorter on the '80. I think the 78-80 style was about 15 inches shorter than the 81-88 style.
