I have a problem with a Monte Carlo 1974. The car has no power, it like chokes if gas pedal is pressed all the way to the floor. When it is lifted from the back with a jack, the car has enormous amount of power! We have changed alot of parts dealing with power but no use. Any idea what it can be??

 

We did the tune up already, changed the fuel pump, timing chain, gas lines, head gaskets, Carburetor, ect.

 

so from what i am reading you have no power while the engine is under load

points or hei dist?

what kind of timing are you running?

vac advance i presume?
