I just wanted to share my experience that i had with my 2003 MC LS. OK. like a year ago my Security light was showing follow by headlights flickering or turning completely off while driving and later follow by not been able to crank the engine because the cluster was going nuts...... saying service engine soon, security, etc..
Then finally took it to the dealer after replacing the battery, starter some relays hoping it would fix my problem. So they told me i might need a new BCM and the cost would be around 500$$. But instead I decided to get a used one from the junk yard $120 same car and year. Hook it up and did the pass-lock relearned process that takes like 30 min and it WORKS perfect I almost cry. Except the air bag light is on and that's the only thing i am trying to figure out right now...

 

well looks like u can spend the money u saved from ur first problem to fix ur other one. Nice way to shop smart!

Just a guess here, but 1 of 2 things:
1. Your car has a drivers side impact air bag (in the seat), and the donor car didn't, or the reverse:
2. Your car does NOT have a drivers side impact air bag, and the donor car did.

You have no airbags when the light is on. You need to figure this out.

Like I said, I'm just guessing.

 

Maybe the donor airbags were deploy and there is a code store on the bcm.
I dont know i am guessing too

 

Any good garage can hook up a scanner and check it, and probably clear the code, for about $35-40. I didn't think about the air bag being deployed, That's a good probability.
