Sheesh, if it gets hot enough to discolor the metal you'd think that it would actually melt plastic, even some of the tougher plastics.

Default i fixed that sob

well yesterday it wasnt blistering hot so i decided to take 1 last crack at this problem before going insane. i started the car up and while it sat there puttering i started unhooking sensors and checking voltages ect... well i pulled out the IAT sensor and the engine picked up to rpm and ran smooth as butter so im like hmmm i pulled it out of the airtube and to my shock it showed the gross inefficency of my air filter. it was covered not only in dirt but also moisture. so i removed the CAI and reran it as a ram air system for the time being. i still cant belive that filter was lettign that much dirt and moisture into my car. shocked its been running at all....

well since they dont make CAIs for my car i made one, it came out the intake at oh say 30degree angle, hookoed into the maf sensor then 90'd down and the filter stuck out about 2" below the car. probably not the best way but like i said when they dont make what u need u do lol
