Default Is this a good deal on a '00 MC?

So I have been looking for a white MC for the past 2-3 months and finally found one today. Its a 2000 LS with only 35K miles. Loaded with pretty much everything, sunroof, etc. Its a reall clean car and in great shape, the guy (not a dealership) is asking $8800 for it. Now N.A.D.A. lists it right at what hes asking $8800, while KBB says its only worth around $7500. How can they have that big of difference and what do you think its worth.

Theres only 3 things I dont like about it, its not an SS, the wheels are very ugly (most likely will get new ones though) and the side skirts and the trim on the bottom front/rear bumper are black. It looks redicoulsy stupid since the car is white. Does anyone know how much it would be to paint the 4 peices to match the car?

Though/Opinions? Thanks

from a private seller, i'd say the $7500 is the more accurate, considering it is an LS. The miles are low however...

if you're into modding your engien, don't get the 3.4. there just isn't much aftermarket. hold out and get the SS. I've driven both SS and the LS, and the SS is only rated at 20 more hp... but it feels like much more than that. plus, with the better suspension, 4 wheel disc... just hold out for the SS

Dont get it if its not what you are looking for. With reading your post I would say wait and find something better that suits you...and as you said yourself its not an SS.

Hi Dfalk,That's super low miles for a 2000 LS.Is it a one owner ?Does the owner have maintaince records ?With the price of `gas increasing, it's good to havea Monte that's good on `gas.If you like it, it's your money. I would have a mechaniccheck it out, and I'd offer him $7500 for it.Or you could go 6 miles away from your Zip Codeand look @ this 2000 SS for $7500[:-] $7,555

Or you could go 6 miles away from your Zip Code
and look @ this 2000 SS for $7500
Hey Space, I think that used to be an LS, but is now an SS with someone who threw an L67 in there...

Chances are good that engine has less miles than the car does, as that is not OEM engine in that particular vehicle...

Hell, I might consider that for my daily vehicle...

I would be anxious to see the details on that....

As far as you, Dfalk, you might want to consider the vehicle space listed.. a great price, for an engine that is ready to take the abuse..

Only problem is, if it's the stock 4T60 tranny... it might blow up with that engine in it! lol!!

Kelly Blue Book has a tendancy to be lenient toward the dealerships. Thats why they are always willing to grab one and show you the price.

Edmonds seems to be a bit better with their calls.

As far as I'm concerned it always boils down to what YOU are willing to pay for it.

I'm sure a Dodge Gremlin costs about $500 or so bluebook and alot of people wouldn't buy it, but if I could find one I would just to mod it. Same goes for a Chevy Chevette. Drop a 350 in there and have fun.
