So my coolant level light constantly stays on and i don’t know how to fix it or reset it. I’ve taken it to the shop 3 times to fix it and it stays temporarily fixed but then the light comes back on. i changed the coolant temp sensors, coolant level sensor, and the thermostat and the still continues to stay on.
I assumed it was a bad head gasket but my local shop did a pressurized test for leaks and didn’t find any. If this has ever happened to you or if you have any info on it at all please lmk.🙏🏾
First question, are you loosing coolant? If yes, then someone needs to figure out where it is going.
If not, then you could be dealing with a "weird" radiator/coolant level switch problem. If you unplug the coolant level switch, the light will stop (but this means pay extra attention to your temp gauge to help tell if you have a coolant problem).
One of my two Montes had a problem with the previous owner with the level switch. He left it unplugged. Eventually the radiator failed, so I replaced it and the level switch. Now sometimes when I start the car, it says "low coolant" and other times it does not. So far, I have left it plugged in. But I am tired of the sensor telling lies lol.
