Your dimmer switch on the left of your steering wheel. is that pushed all the way in? Or pulled out one click

Yesterday I tried all positions (both with the sensor for the DRL on the dash covered/uncovered) to see if I could get any power. No luck in doing so. What is the default position that the dimmer switch should be in (one click out?)

As it happened, I got a message that warned my high beams were out (it was daytime) but haven't got the message since. I checked the bulbs and they are fine. The only thing I can think of now is a possible short.

For automatic lighting you would need to have that switch pushed all the way in.

Thanks Mike. So far I haven't been able to resolve the problem. I'm going to go ahead and get the dealer to take a look at it I suppose. I won't be able to afford a repair (atleast, I think) until next friday. In the mean time, is it possible to switch the lows into the highs or will they not fit? I'm tired of blinding everyone everywhere I go.

Also, do the DRLs run through the lows to the highs?

I'm hoping that it isn't the BCM to be honest. Thanks for the imput though. It seems that they've dried out and work fine again, atleast for the past couple of days they have been. So, that's my fix for now I guess.

I have the same issue. No puddle though. They just stopped working one day. Mine havent come back...yet. I am not hopeful at this point since it has been a few days and still no sign of life.
Everywhere I look people say the headlight switches are NOTORIOUS for failing on this car, but they arent specific about which switch it is. The steering column one or the dashboard one. Also...is a junkyard a good option? Either switch is WAY over 100 bucks and doesnt seem worth it to buy a new one.
Anyone have any input?
-Pete
