Default Loud POP

Well I was driving back to work from my lunch break and I heard a loud pop on the front end. Almost as if you would run over something or hit a pot hole. I parked at my job looked under the car and im leaking fluid. The tow truck drive said it was clear fluid. Anyone know what this could possibly be?

Power steering is the closest to clear, bit of a yellowish tint. Probably otta check the hoses.

I haven't noticed the car driving any different. I kept driving for like 2 miles till I got to work and it drove the same as it always does.

Power steering or brake fluid.
I suppose the question is, what's not working or feeling right?

The only issue I have been having is this annoying fast clicking sound when I unlock the car and it also happens like every hour or so and I think Im starting to have cv axle failure but not 100% sure on that one. But like I said it was still driving like normal. Brakes were working fine. Power steering was fine. Im just waiting on that call from the mechanic.

Your right Maniac. didn't think of brakes. Caliper piston seal? Would still have brakes for quiet a while before you notice it pulling when you brake.

The cv axel went out. The fluid was from the ac. I'll have the car back around noon tomorrow

OK, the fluid was condensation from the drain, normal when using AC. Didn't think of that one...

Glad your mechanic found the issue and you'll be back on the road soon!

Hi, I think my cc axle is bad also. Where are you located and what kind of price did you get for a replacement.

A Monro auto center outside of Pittsburgh, PA quoted me $200-$300 for this.

I'd like to compare pricing because an online estimator said $300-$700, which seems to be a really wide range.

Thanks,
Donna
