Default Loose center console

So the other day when I was out driving I noticed my center console was not completely secured. I was able to lift it up from the rear passenger seat area and possibly lift it completely up. What I am wondering is, where do the screws go on the center console?

In the bottom on the inside there is a rubber pad that comes out. there should be two screws under it. Mine was loose because it was cracked around the screws.

I went and checked it out and sure enough mine was cracked also, completely. So is there any place to get a new center console? Or do I need to head on over to the junkyard?

gmpartsdirect.com may have it, you'd get it cheaper at the junkyard tho

I took mine out and glued it then put some fender washers on the screws to support it. I'm not sure how bad yours is broke but this may be an option.

I'd just glue and apply a little resin to the crack. No one will know but you (and us on this thread, lol).

The plastic looks like it basically got shattered and it cracked around the lip. Almost looks as if it was glass and too much pressure was put on to it.. idk if that made any sense

Yea thats how mine was too, I have some challenged friends who get in my car and seem to lean on everything. Get rectangle piece of metal, drill 2 holes in it, and use it as a big washer. Doesnt have to be too thick.

I agree on the recall part, it should be recalled for a "safety issue" :P the console will be laying on your lap if you get into a wreck
