lighting on defrost heater control
I just purchased a 04 MC and noticed the lighting around the switch that controls the different options for vents does not light up. Also no lighting on the heat-cool slider gague. Lighting does work around the fan control ****. Was wondering if this is normal or should there be LCD lighting on these parts.

Your bulbs are probably burnt out like mine.

thanks for the responses.
I guess it looks like a person needs to look for a used one and hope the lighting and everything else works. The link is good to have it rebuilt, just trying to figure if i want to go without a unit for a couple of weeks. Good to know there is alternatives out there besides dealer. Have a weird one with the blinkers. Couldnt figure out why they wouldnt work. turns out the hazzard was unpluged and they wount work with out it pluged in from the back. Took a dealer at 120 an hour to figure it out. Found a multi switch for 385 not 550 from the dealer which helped when the high beam switch wouldnt work.
this is a good forum, glad people will help.

Yeah, the dealership won't even fix the burnt out bulbs either. They consider it an "unserviceable" item.
There are ways that you can do it yourself, if you are good with opening up electronics and soldering.
If you check moradpartscompany.com sometimes you can find one for sale. Just be careful, as they are different in some models. For example you probably have a lot of dots to represent the fan speeds, where I have 1,2,3,4,5.
