Default Keyless entry

Did all Monte Carlos come with keyless entry? I bought a used 2000 LS a few years ago, I didn't get any fobs with it. I've read that you can program new fobs if it has the factory radio. Mine has an aftermarket radio so I can't do that. Is there any other way to get fobs made? Other than installing an aftermarket keyless entry system that is. Not sure what a dealer would charge to do it if possible

Don't quote me, but I believe keyless entry was standard on all 2000 and newer Montes. Without the factory radio, I believe the only other way to program the fobs is using a GM Tech II scan tool (something a GM Dealer has).

You might be able to visit the parts dept. of the local GM dealer and give them the Vin # and they can look it up to see if the vehicle has that feature. Then go to a salvage yard and grab a stock radio and stick it in the car you might just be able to make it work. The LS version might be the exception?!?! Well maybe not! I just checked the brochure for the 2000 and the ls box is checked for standard. I will take a photo and upload that info.

I think I'll give that a try. I hoping whoever put the aftermarket radio in didn't butcher the original wire harness. I'll have to pull it out sometime and see
