Default Intermittent noise when braking

2000 SS makes oscillating noise intermittently when braking (normal braking not hard) kinda like a chirping sound comes from right side of dash I suspect it has to do with ABS, does this sound indicate a problem with ABS system or is it harmless? brakes work fine and do not oscillate.

Thank you!

I had a noise coming from my master cylinder that was like a "whining" or noise from it. That turned out to be my ABS was failing when the noise happened because I had a short in the ABS wiring. I also received the ABS and Trac Off warning lights though. Are you receiving any CEL indicators? Mine was also pulling to one side when this occurred. Does yours pull to one side or the other?

By only it being a chirping noise, it could be something minor. Probably the wear tab on the backing plate of the pad. Letting you know the pads are getting low and should be replaced soon.

Could also be some rust buildup, or the pads are worn down enough to start grinding slightly. Pull the wheels and check the brakes to start.

Brake pads are beefy no pulling it is an electrical control or hydraulic noise coming from up under the dash to the drivers right, brakes work perfectly I'm just curious to what it might be, the brake pedal doesn't oscillate when noise occurs, browsing my shop manual to see what is in that area having to do with brakes.

That could be the ABS triggering.

Could have an sensor or hub on its way out. only way to tell is by watching PID Data with a scan tool.

I gotta say if its a "hydraulic" sound....its definitely ABS sensor triggering and I would lean towards a short in the wiring.
