I hardly ever hear of the fuel regulator failing (actually, I think I've only heard of that once or twice). Thanks for the follow up!

BTW - If you ever need access to the fuel pump in the 6th gen Monte, no need to drop the tank. Under the floor covering in the trunk is an access hatch. Unbolt, open and there is the top of the tank.

Also can't you use a transmission jack to hold up the gas tank?

Im actually on 3rd regulator. My car doesnt have the access panel for the fuel pump. i should've taken a picture of what it looks like just in case anyone runs into this.

Chibi:
i used a regular jack with a good ol' piece of wood to lift the tank. but you still have to wiiggle it into place. In my case i had to lift it off the floor on to the jack while i was under the car, that was the only way i was able to get it in there.

I'd like to make a toast to Harbor freight and fuel pressure gauges, lol

That is interesting..... I've seen that access hatch on a few 6th gen Montes in the junk yards (starting with a 2000). It's between the rear seat and the spare tire well.....

It would not be the first time GM did something goofy.... Maybe that was an option you had to select when getting the car from the dealer....

Sadly I recently researched this for another member. From 2000-2004, GM has the access hatch. In 2005, GM stopped with the hatch, back to dropping the tank. This came from The_Maniac sent to Monte05.
