Intake manifold and valve cover gasket 99 LS
Hello Carlo Folks,
Ive had several warnings before from the repair shops that my intake manifold and valve cover gasket need to be replaced. Finances lead me to postpone this repair for some time now and i think its time to act.
I have to add water to the radiator every couple weeks and now the oil is leaking too.
When i added water yesterday the fluids looked merky and pretty nasty. My question is should/can i flush the radiator before the major gasket repair or would that be counterproductive? thanks

Welcome to the forum!
Heres the fix for your predicament....
You need to replace the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets....
I would stop...driving it until you can afford to fix it...or...you may blow up the motor...because water and oil don't mix!...
You can do the work yourself....(save you a boat load of cash that way) also you need to change the coolant elbows at the tensioner...since youll have it apart already...and besure to get all the pieces out of the inlets before you instahl the new ones!
Then flush the complete system after the repairs.
