How to replace the FPR on 2002 Monte 3800 NA
Well, I've determined my fuel pressure regulator is leaking. I'd like to replace it myself, but am unsure as to how it' attaches to the fuel rail (and comes off). I know I have to release the pressure, but am not sure how to get it off. Anyone with any comments?

basicly, it's held by a snap ring, and personally i release the pressure by removing the regulator in the case of this repair.
step 1. check that youre not covered by the recall...im not sure if it was on montes but maybe.....
step 2. cuss your dealer and...
disconnect the vacuum line, hold down on regulator, use snap ring pliers to remove snap ring from fuel rail, allowing to lay loose over the regulator youre still holding down, cover regulator with rag, grab regulator through rag and remove/break loose by tipping slightly, make sure old o-rings and screen come out of rail. install in reverse order... any time after you take off the snap ring be ready for the fuel, the regulator will usully not just fly out after taking off the snap ring, but it can, i've also removed the regulator b4 with vurtually no loss of fuel, only to step away then have it spray,i dont know why that happens... so if it doesnt spray leave the rag laying over the rail
