How to replace the ABS Motor pack on my 99 Monte Carlo?
Okay, took the unit off twice, thought it was as easy as take the old ABS motor pack off and install the new one. Reason I'm am doing the replacement is I am getting all that clicking from the ABS pump when you brake but have had no ABS light or brake light. When I removed the old ABS motor pack there are three wheels underneath there that line up with the new ABS Motor pack, when I removed the old one the wheels spun a bit and it was a bit tight removing the old one, so I put the new one in and there is like play in each wheel left to right, its not tight at all. So I reinstalled it and my ABS light and brake light came on, ABS was not working, did not hear it like you are supposed to on initial startup. So I put the old one back in, no ABS light or brake light lit up but I still have the clicking when I brake and if my lights are on the clicking dims my lights while it clicks. All other parts of the system have been scanned even the parts inside the car, they all work fine. Its either the motor pack or the solenoids mounted on top of the abs unit. Does anyone have any input on how to put this motor pack on correctly?, its brand new and very pricey. TY for your input.
