Default how do you change the Ignition

how do you change the ignition switch on a 2005 ss? can you just go through to radio opening? is it just the two screws that hold it in? and do i have to worry about any of the security things getting messed up since im putinng the same key cylinder back in.

Check out this link. It's for an Impala but it's basically the same thing except you will have a screw in the left hand side of the glove box to remove for Montes. I replaced the ignition switch in my 2001 and it was pretty easy and completely solved multiple problems. I know using GM parts is often recommended but I tried the cheaper route with a Dorman switch since I had good luck with their drivers side power window switch when a more expensive replacement failed within a week. So far so good on the ignition switch. Just my 2 cents....

Oh, and no problems with any security settings, I used my same lock cylinder too.
