I have never tried doing a burnout with either Monte I've owned. Considering the engine and trans setup on both cars were/are basically stock, I don't think it's worth taking a chance on breaking or slowly ruining something on the car. I have mashed the gas from a stop with traction off, although even that I don't do too much, but sitting there holding the brake/ebrake and trying to do a standstill burnout with FWD? Don't see that it's worth it.

Mine will light them up real good. Just stomp and go. Gotta watch that oversteer. I think I have only did it twice. Cant even think about tearing anything up.

I've only actually done it 1 time, mostly to tell myself that i can, but it didn't move an inch and the pavement was dry. All i did was e-braked, put it in 1st, traction control off, put brakes on and took the car up to about 3000rpm. Once she's about to break loose, put it to the floor and let off to about 2500 to 3000 rpm while letting off the brake at the same time. This should get the wheels spinning fast enough to keep from getting traction and pulling away.

I always knew it was horrible on the car and definitely bad on tires, but once i found out about the tranny problems on 7th gens. and knew that i finally owned a car that can do a burnout, i haven't done it since. Good luck and hopefully this doesn't lead to a tranny rebuild thread . . .

There aren't just tranny problems with 6.5 gens, any FWD W-body with a stock tranny has that weakness.

i'd say any vehicle that's pushing 303 horses to a tranny that's rated at 300 is gonna have problems, FWD or not

Like the others have said, just stomp the skinny pedal. I've done 50+ burnouts (not all out smoke shows) with no ill effect. I would advise against it, but it's your care.

if you have to ask how to do a burnout, then you probably shouldn't be doing one anyway. and that also means the car isn't really capable
