Default horrible ticking noise

Yesterday it hit 70 degrees(whole other subject lol) and i adjusted my temperature **** from hot to cold and this god aweful racket started coming from somewhere inside the console. It freaked me out so I pulled over on the highway, turned the car off, and took the key out of the ignition and the noise kept going. I had to turn the temp **** back up to warm to get it to go away. happens the worst with the **** on the floor mode, blowing cold air. I stuck my head down there as best as i could and it sounds like it's coming up from the foot well, where the air comes out of on floor mode. Sorry I can't be more discriptive. Can anyone help me out with this?
Another issue I'm having, is my c/d player says I have two cds in it, and whenever I try to eject any of them, it says disc error. The only thing is, I haven't put any cds in it since I bought it.
For anyone who doesn't know, I just bought the car less then a month ago, has 44k on the odo.
Thank you for the helpful info

Is there some sort of recall or TSB for this problem?

Also, any suggestions of a fix for the radio?

Maybe there is a cd stuck in it from the previous owner. I had a CD that had something spilled on it get stuck to the spindle.

Smile Ticking sound

The ticking sound you hear when you changed the temp is from the vent door actuator. They are located in the console behind and to the left of the glovebox on my 07 LT.. pretty easy to change and only cost like $35 for the part from rockauto.com

Edited for anyone looking to replace theirs... go with the AC Delco model and don't get the doorman brand ... I've tried them and had the clicking noise return not long after replacing them.
