5th Gen ('95-'99): High beams always on low beam no lights

Default High beams always on low beam no lights
On my 99 z34 turn lights on the high beams come on, pull on the high beam switch lights turn off can only get the high beams to work low beams I cannot get the turn on I'm lost

I have one too, but I always have mine in the Automatic mode.
It could be in the switch in the steering column, I have read some other stories that is usually the issue.
