So your gas gauge doesn't work? Get a new O2 sensor, it'll work wonders

i don't think i said the gas gauge doesn't work, but it doesn't anyway, that goes hand in hand with the pump though i looked and i can't just find the sending unit, which makes the gauge fluctuate

The sensor is probably somewhere on your fuel pump assembly. I'm not sure, but you may be able to access it under your backseat? IDK about 6th gens, but on 5th gens you have to drop the gas tank.

Removing the codes isn't that important. After 70-ish start ups, the code will clear itself. It does get to be a hassle always seeing that damn SES light though!
