Exclamation HELP Transmission leaking Pics

Ok so my transmission is leaking and i just noticed where it is leaking from but i dont know what type of part it is. Fluid is bubbling out and leaking. Picture 1 is a view just to give you an idea of where i am looking at, standing on the driver side looking across the engine. Picture 2 is a little more zoomed in showing the part that is leaking. Picture 3 is the most detailed showing the tranny fluid leaking. Picture 4 showes what lookes like a cut or space where the fluid is leaking. I am not sure if it is a cap or valve. It only leaks when the car is in drive using the transmission. Any information helps i would like to know what i am dealing with before i have it checked out thanks.

Ok to me this part seems to be an overflow valve because of the placement on top of the transmission and of the bubbling of fluid it seems to be overheating and overflowing. Ok so if this is the case why would a transmission be overheating possibly the cooling line but not sure how it would be blocked. Any ideas?

ok first is to check the condition of the oil and how it feels when puting it into gears. second is did you get some form of vibration or clanking. third if you feel up to it i would drop the pan just to see the magnet for it to see if there is any abnormal shavings. go from what you think is the right step. i would change the fluid do see if the fluid is starting to break down.
