Help! Rear end feels "Loose"
Hey Everybody,
My fiance's 2000 Monte Carlo has a wierd problem. The rear end of the car feels "loose." On a dry road, the car drives normal. If the road is wet or snow covered, or if there is even slow blowing across the road, the car starts acting up. Does it while just coasting, when on the throttle, and when braking. The problem started all at once. She drove the car 250 miles, parked it for a day or two, and when she got in it to drive the next time it was doing this. I figured it was the rear brakes, so I changed them. New rotors, calipers, brake hoses and pads. The problem is still there. What could be wrong here? The back of the car seems to slide around on the road slightly, giving it the loose or squirly feeling. I'm stumped here. The car is a 2000, with 135k on it. She's owned it for quite a while, and this is pretty much the first problem its had. Any Ideas?! Please Help!!!!

You might need to check all of the rods and such, mabye add a sway bar for added stabilty. You might even just have bad rear wheel bearings. Just park it on dry pavement and push on the rear quarter panel, and watch what the tires do, if they rock of if they slide. Having something loose back there could be real bad if it decided to become unconnected.
A couple other people I've asked said the wheel bearings too. I "shook down" the wheel on both sides and everything seemed tight. They roll easily and there is no noises. Somebody else mentioned an Alignment. All four tires are wearing strait and even. It puzzles me that the car was fine one day, and two days later its like this!
