Default help with 2001 rear window defogger

My son's 2001 MC SS rear window defogger isn't working now. The positive tab was knocked off and I soldered it back on. A couple of weeks later it was off again. This time I used the Loctite tab repair kit. Now, the tab is really stuck on but the rear window defogger isn't working. I measured the voltage across the pos and neg leads and it shows 14.8V. When it was soldered on the voltage was around 12V. I checked the relay and there is no way to tell if it is bad, gray plastic relay in the fuse box. I tried to measure the voltage in the middle with foil over my pos lead and I got 0V. That tells me that something is wrong. Any ideas?

Default don't buy the loctite tab adhesive

The stuff didn't work. It glued the tab on, but it didn't conduct electricity. I ended up pulling it off and soldering it again. It is working now. I just hope it doesnt' pop off again.

Just as an FYI to anyone else reading this, the Loctite brand repair kit has a poor rating. Google it and you won't find out much good about it. Loctite is a good company, too. It's a shame they have such a poor product in that item.

Glad you got it fixed.

Glad you got it fixed. My defogger stopped working in my 06, but was fixed under warranty. The dealer said I had a bad connection.
