Help! Broken bleed screw
[IMG][/IMG]
Okay so I broke the screw in one of the bleed valves no big deal for $10 I got another one. And I snapped the whole thing this time. Any idea how to get it out? Or what the whole piece is called that I can buy?

I believe that "goose neck" is called the "heater bypass". The screws used I believe are brass. You MIGHT be able to gently drill the screw out. Start with small bits and progressively go up in bit size.

Remove the gooseneck, then get a matching drill bit and an easy-out. Drill the fitting out. Heat the fitting then spray it with non-flammable penetrating oil. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. Insert the easy-out into the fitting and gently back it out of the gooseneck. Most brass fittings are tapered so they get progressively larger as you tighten it. They don't need a lot of torque. Put some Teflon tape on the fitting (except the last couple of threads at bottom then install the fitting. When it becomes snug give it 1/8 to 1/4 additional turn. The reason you keep breaking them is because you are applying too much torque. Because the fitting is tapered it gets to a point where it can't continue tightening. As you apply more torque the weakest link fails - the brass fitting.
