Question HELP ~>96 z34, won't turn over, security light flashing.

I went through and did a Seafoam treatment and oil change along with new tie rod ends.

I drove after wards to 3 different locations then finally home, the vehicle turned off and on just fine and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

after i got home i went to get back in my car to run another errand and turned my key, nothing happened, the lights don't dim or anything, no click no nothing, battery is dead or low from what i can tell (even did a jump start just in case.)

The security light flashes constantly without stopping when the key is in the ignition and when i turn the key, the stereo turns off... that's it, there's no audible noises anywhere.

I'm really just not sure where to go from here on this issue, i think it may be an issue with the "vats/passlock" system but i'm not 100% sure.

I disconnected the battery for 10+ minutes and that didn't change anything, left the car sitting over night and it's still the same issue.

...Sorry to read you are having problems with your Monte. How many miles on your Monte ?
1. I would check starter connection
2. Check your key & chip (Clean your key) The chip in your key can go bad...
3. Ignition cylinder/passlock problem maybe?? Clean ignition (they get dirty) or it's worn : (
4. bad connection at starter on +wire from battery
- Check all connections.
5. Check back to see what our Expert tech member's post/suggest....

Good Luck 4-Sure.

Sounds to me like the vehicle anti theft system. The VATS has to do with the little chip in your key. Alot of people have problems with the VATS. Some people bypass it to get their car to start. Here is a good site with some info:

Do you have another key you can try?

Just to see if it's the key and not the ignition?
