If you are asking if this happens with the leather seats as opposed to cloth, yep.

Got an 02 monte carlo and the driver side heated seat don't work but passenger side does. Im hoping that this might be the problem with mine. Is it too difficult to remove the leather upholstery? Is it just the bottom that needs removed or the back as well? The heater in the back of the seat doesn't work either so is maybe the back controlled by the bottom?

EDIT: Sorry, that's for the power seats. I'll see what I can dig up.

Edit 2: The heated seats are the connector with the brown wire in it. from there, it goes to a distribution block or relay. From what I can hear, the distribution block is on the drivers side (fuse box, maybe?). The switches would go to the control side of that same relay. I know wiring diagrams exist for this but I do not have any. If you are going to wire this yourself, do not forget the fuses!

Unhook the leather at the bottom of the left side of the eat and pull it back as far as you can till you see the exposed wires. You'll see brown/burnt foam. Neither the bottom or back of the seat worked on my mother's car till I fixed the wire.

You can use a bungee cord or something to hold the leather where it is while you do the repair.

See post 1 for pictures.

Glad I looked here first before trouble shooting my self. Sure enough I pulled back the cover as pictured above and the black wired had burned in half. I patched in a new piece of like wire and fixed the problem. I've owned the car 6 months and it never has worked but since it was spring time when I got the car I didn't care. Now that it's getting cold out it will make my drive to work in the morning much more comfortable.
