Default Headlight issue I cannot figure out

This is kinda long, I have the most annoying damn issue with a headlight. I have a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. I have had issues with this light all year. Basically my normal lights stopped working, it wasn’t the bulb. My uncle then switched the high beams into the regular light sockets or whatever they’re called. I have been running off of my high beams.

It’s been one issue after another, before he switched them it was happening. The driver side one works fine. It’s the passenger side one. Replaced the bulb and connector. Worked fine for awhile then the connector somehow broke. I taped it up, started working again. I have had to open the hood and move the bulb or touch the light for it to come one. Sometimes I could start the car and it would work for a few days. Other times, I would have to mess with the wire every time I started it. There’s no rhyme or reason to it.

Now, the bulb won’t work at all, no matter how much I play with the wires. There’s a black, green, and blue wire going to something and connected to the bulb. Only the black and blue wires go to the bulb itself though. The blue wire is not connected to whatever it’s supposed to be connected to now. I’m utterly confused as to what the hell has happened to the headlight area. I can’t drive at night now because of this issue. The turn, and other lights work on that bulb assembly. Just the headlight part is not working. What could be wrong?

It may have something to do with your turn signal/high beam selector handle.

That's what I've just ordered a replacement on eBay for $32 and one reviewer mentioned it fixed the same problem I'm having which is the high beam on an 07 @ 117k miles, comes on sometimes when using the turn signal. And it kind of sticks on, where the pull back flash high beam feature is sensitive and sticks on.
I did spray some electronic contacts cleaner while switching on and off and this helped some but not enough.
You might try spraying electronic contacts cleaner into the stock, the metal contacts inside can become oxidized and tarnished.
Although your problem might be something else.

The spray I used they have at auto zone. It's great to have.

Take care
