RE: hard shifting..
my car is facing that same problem, torque converter is going.
been that way for 2 years now, I just drive it easy, saving for a rebuild of my transmission and adding a shift kit.

RE: hard shifting..
mine doesn't do it in the cold, only in the heat, or after driving it for a while / hard.
that's why i'm gonna do the rebuild in the spring, should be fine through the winter.

RE: hard shifting..
I just bought an 01 SS that had the same problem. I had the tranny rebuilt about a month ago and this week it started again. The shop said the computer was determining that the tranny wasnt shifting quitefast enough(bad clutches) so it maxxed out the pressure in the tranny to make it shift thus making it jerk like that and rebuilding it was the only way to fix it. He showed me the code. Cant remember the number but it said "max pressure shift". I have a warranty on it so i dont really care it hasnt cost me a dime so far. Its going back next week so we will see.

ever figure out what the problem was, as Mines starting to do same thing.
First it was a slow delay shift, then its hard shifting. Its on and off of how and when it does it.
IM taking it to the Tran shop in the am to have it test drove and possibly get the trans scanned to see if any sensors are bad. Fluid is not low but could be old and need replacing.
