You can have a little amount of water/coolant in a cylinder and have it burn/blow out with the exhaust (hence why a car with a failed head gasket commonly has clouds of white smoke, actually steam, coming from the exhaust).
Hydrolocked means just that "locked", car does not start, period, until something is done to correct the problem.
Hydrolock can occur while the car is running (which means one or more cylinders filled with water/coolant while the car was running). That can be very, very bad!
So if it started and had "some" water/coolant in the cylinder, it was not enough to be hydrolocked and whatever was in there would all exit the system quickly unless there was something still causing fluid to dump in to the cylinder.
This is a good article to read on the subject:

Ok, now I found out that since my tuner did a leak test bow my cylinder heads have a bad valve and cylinder 1 was 35% water or whatever he said was more than normal so it just gets worse and worse, probably going to sell the new parts and junk it. What a nightmare
I'm really curious as to how water is getting in the cylinder, keep us posted on that, also most times when a pushrod bends so does the valve and at that point you pray the piston is fine.
Partout?!?!?! What all you got? Zzp control arms by chance? I really need a set of them! Lmao
Hope things starthat getting better with this situation for you soon man, keep us posted!

Thanks man will do, I'm in a rut now Im not going to have all the money for this because I'm assuming e machinist will charge an arm and a leg to fix the valve and valve guides. If the pistons are shot I'm done than and I will part it out
If I were you I would pull both heads and have a machine shop check them for cracks and check over all the valves etc. Once the heads are off you can see the pistons and cylinder walls to see if there is any visible damage there.

I agree with Turbo Monte.
If this car was in good enough shape that you would mess with modding, it's sad to hear because of this mess the entire car might get junked. Not that you want to, but worst case scenario, a cheap L36 or L67 could at least get it back on the road.
Food for thought. I'm still curious how you have fluid in cylinder 1.
Make sure who ever you have doing the work you trust. If you don't trust the person, then you are always going to be suspicious whenever anything goes wrong while the car was under their care.

Yea my tuner is bringing the heads to a good machine shop he told me on Friday to check over the heads and valves. I trust him but I'm going down tomorrow to check it over and find out exactly for myself what's going on. The car is in excellent condition and only has 76k on the clock it's an 03 I just can't deal with the domino effect my blood pressure is through the roof and Id rather not get sick over this car
So the machine shop called and said that the heads were ported poorly and the valve job was not that good either. Also the bowls were not blended well. Thanks to zzp for me wasting 2000 on the stage 3 heads they don't even sell anymore it's now costing me 900$ to fix all these problems plus new seals that were oem and not viton as they were claimed to be. Never buying from zzp again. Besides the terrible shipping department that half the time didn't ship some if the things I ordered many times, now their so called quality head work is a joke

Seems customer reviews with ZZP are hit or miss. I have nothing but good experiences with them over the years with things I ordered or customer service issues.
How long ago did you get the heads? And I assume they were fresh from ZZP? Have you tried contacting ZZP regarding this?

I've had crappy customer service with zzp as well. I don't order much of anything from then anymore.... I still do want zzp control arms though.... lol
Don't surprise me with the issues you are having with the heads.... should of went with bully flow
