Default Grinding Noise with TC Message

2003 3.4 with 130,000km...

A couple of times recently I have been just driving normally and after coming to a full stop, upon acceleration from a standstill the engine reved, but car didn't move...feels like like the trans was slipping- accompanied by a grinding noise from the the front.
The TC light comes on momentarily...then goes out, and the car accelerates normally.

Any ideas what the problem is or has anybody else had the same experience?

I'm fearing the worst

It could be the solenoids in your transmission. Our trannies are notorious for going bad. It could also be your torque converter going bad. I would start by doing a fluid and filter change in your tranny and maybe adding some lucas tranny fix but don't flush the tranny as this will loosen all the dirt and gunk in the tranny and more than likely accelerate your problem
