I am wanting to know if anyone out there has had an issue with their first GEN hood latch not opening. I have tried to push down and pull on the lever. I cannot get this hood to release any ideas would be much appreciated. I might have to get the die grinder out and cut latch.

if you look behind the grill there is a long bar that comes off the latch assy. and goes to the handle you pull on to open your hood. double check it is actually moving and pulling correctly on the latch. the one i had you had to pull on the bar because the holes get wore out and cause it not to pull straight so it don't open. also you if you can find it the chevell is the same style and they are normally easier to find the the monte carlos.
